Sunday Adventures

Another gloomy day here in Virginia! There have been a lot a gray skies since I've been here but this weekend Kory and I actually were able to go out and enjoy the sun, well less gray skies, for a while!!

The Kor and I decided to go out and explore a little on Sunday.  We went to Georgetown, which is basically like downtown Washington DC.  It was a charming little town with cobble stones paths, cute shops, and a great view of the Potomac River.  We grabbed some seafood at a restaurant called Fishers Farmers Bakers, right along the river.  Only Kory, a true pizza lover, would insist on ordering pizza at a seafood restaurant, so we shared a thin crust pizza and an order of a fried seafood combo.  The pizza was definitely a mistake and the fish was... eh. Although the food was so-so, we still had so much fun! It was soooo good to have a whole day with Kor all to myself!  These long summer days can get a tinsy bit lonely. Anyway, so I made pregnant lady mistake number 200 at the restaurant.  After walking around in the hot humidity by the time we got to the restaurant my feet were killing me, so I slipped off my shoes under the table.  When were finished eating, I tried putting my shoes on but my feet had swollen so much I could barely get my shoes back on. I managed to squeeze my red, puffy feet in my pointy-toed flats enough to walk out of the restaurant, but I ended up taking off my shoes and walking barefoot to the car, which was in underground parking two blocks away. Super gross! I think I learned my lesson! From now on, I'm sticking to flip flops.

We planned to go see World War Z that night so we went home to change shoes and stuff my purse full of candy.  It started pouring rain!! I wish I would have taken a video, cause it seriously was raining soo hard! Another one of those thunder storms I told you about. Kory ran out into the storm to bring the car up so I wouldn't have to get rained on (aww.. what a gentleman ;)). As  I watched him run out into the rain and start the car, it suddenly was coming down in buckets!!! In a split second the rain had tripled in strength and as I stood under the stairs of our apartment complex, I thought for sure Kory would come back inside. Nope!! He just sat out there waiting for me to make a run for it. I thought about opening my umbrella but I was sure it would just blow away, this was a serious storm! I just stood there contemplating if we should still go and if we did what was the best way to get from the stairs to the car, then Kory lays on the horn (not so gentlemanly).  So I take a run for it and instantly I was drenched, DRENCHED!! Like I just got out of the shower. Kory opened the car door for me and we both burst out in laughter.  I had been outside for about 3 seconds and I looked like a drowned rat.
